Geraldine Anderson Obituary

Geraldine was born on October 8, 1938, in Danville, Georgia, to her devoted parents, J.C. Peck and Sarah Anna Watkins. As an only child, she grew up with a foundation of love and resilience.  She attended New Providence School in Jeffersonville, Georgia, where she first began cultivating the strength of character and kindness for which she would always be remembered.

At just 20 years old, Geraldine met the love of her life, David Anderson, Sr. They married on June 8, 1957, and created a beautiful life together, raising five children while demonstrating the power of love, partnership, and family values.  Together, they built a legacy through their family, one that continues to flourish.

Geraldine was a dedicated and hardworking member of her community. She was a member of Providence Baptist Missionary Church and Balls C.M.E. Church in Jeffersonville, Georgia, where she served on the usher board for many years. She worked at American Mill in Gordon, Georgia, where she gave  many years of service until her well-deserved retirement. Her time there was a testament to her determination and commitment.

Above all, Geraldine will be remembered for her deep love for her family and friends, her kindness, and her unmatched honesty. You could count on her for the most straightforward advice, delivered with love and sincerity.  She was selfless, always putting others’ needs before her own, and her acts of kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate to know her.

She is survived by her beloved children: Sarah Ann Anderson (Sherman), David Anderson Jr. (Teresa), Willie Mack Anderson (Evelyn), Everest Earl Anderson (Michelle), and Pamela Lafaye Chambers (Lee). Her legacy will continue through her 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends. Additionally, she is survived by her Aunt Marie Calhoun and special nieces Lucy Watkins Paulson and Josephine Stephens.

Geraldine’s memory will be carried forward by those who loved her deeply. Her wisdom, warmth, and love will remain in their hearts and continue to guide them.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for all the love and support received during this time.

Geraldine’s legacy is one of love, care, and a life well-lived. She may be gone from our sight, but she will forever remain in our hearts.
