Life's journey
Mother Geneva Chappell Brice,
the eldest child of the late Robert Lee and Eva Mae Chappell. She was born June 17,
1945. She became affectionately known as Polly. She would become the big sister and second mom to 16 siblings. Mother Geneva attended school in Jeffersonville, Georgia. She graduated from Jefferson High School. She dedicated her life to Christ at a very young age. Geneva worked and retired from the Arc of Macon and volunteered with the Special Olympics. Mother Geneva joined Jesus' Mission of Love Pentecostal Church, where she served as a devoted member and usher and later became mother of the church until her untimely death. Geneva met her husband, Charlie G. Brice, while enjoying an outing to downtown Macon in 1964. She would soon become Mrs. Geneva Brice on March 5, 1964. To their union, they were blessed with six dedicated children: one son who preceded her in death, Reginald Brice, Garret Brice (Connie), Evette Brice, Benard Brice, Joe Brice (Diana), and Greg Brice. Through them, she was blessed with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mother Geneva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all that she knew and didn't know. She was a God-fearing, meek, humble, and virtuous woman. So to know her is to love her. She would open her home to anyone who needed shelter, and she fed whoever was there. She was definitely an angel on earth. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Charlie
G. Brice; her parents; one brother, Ellie Chappell; and two sisters, Agnes C. Gilliard and Bertha C. Jackson. Two sisters in love: Dorothy Jones (William G) and . She leaves to cherish her life and fond memories with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and one brother-in-lover (Dan Gilliard). Eight sisters: Ida Mae Howard (Chester), Mattie Chappell, Deliah C. Davis (Eric), Joyce Elaine C. Johnson (Tony), all of Macon, Georgia, Joe Ann Lindsey (Ulysses) of Ellenwood, Georgia, Dorothy Mae Montgomery (Clarence) of Stockbridge, Georgia, Geraldine C. Fort (Stacey), of Rex, Georgia, Bessie Mae C. Potter (Eric) of Englewood, New Jersey. Five brothers: Robert Lee Chappeli (Beretta), Tony Johnny O'Neal Chappell (Brandi), of Macon, Georgia, Calvin B. Chappell of Atlanta, Georgia, Fredrick Chappell (Bernadette) of Sierra Vista, AZ, James Lewis Chappell (Tamern) of Warner Robins, Georgia. Two special friends: Ida Farley and Pastor Opheliah Austin along with nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
She heard the voice of Jesus say, lay down thou weary one, lay down. Thy head upon my Greatest.
I'll ease your burdens and stop your pain. Just come unto Me and nest.
