Frankie R. Smothers

Frankie Rounette Smothers  was born November 22, 1945 in Eatonton, Georgia to the late Otis Sr and Mamie Farrar. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. With her family gathered by her side, Frankie departed her Earthly life on June 18, 2026 at her home surrounded by love.

Frankie attended Bibb County Public Schools, and dedicated 35 years of service to Bibb County Department of Family and Children Services where she faithfully served her community until her retirement in 2004. 

For many years some of her favorite hobbies were playing softball for both city and church leagues, traveling, celebrating and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s special moments. Frankie found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved cooking meals for her loved ones while creating lasting memories around the table, and enjoying her favorite television shows. Her warmth, wisdom and caring spirit made everyone feel welcomed and loved. 

She was preceded in death by: Mother and Father Otis Sr. and Mamie Farrar, Husband Roy Smothers Jr. Mother-in-law Ola Mae Ball and Father-in-law Roy Smothers Sr. Sisters Jean McElroy and Patricia Neal, Sister-in-law Pamela Finney, Brother-in-law Everett Neal, Joseph Maynard and Joseph Moye Sr. Nieces KaWanna Neal, Patricia Tharpe and Kira Maynard. 

Frankie leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved children: LJ (Chaka) Hardy, Leslie T. Hardy (Sharon) LaTonya Hardy, Anedra Smothers (Charlie) and Cynthia (Avery) Robertson. 18 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Her sisters Shirley (Troy) Clarington, Yvonne (Mike) Hardnette, Elaine Farrar, Gwendolyn Maynard and Linda Boyd. Brother Otis Jr. (Bobbie) Farrar and a host of loving nieces and nephews, dedicated cousins and caring friends.
