Frank Green, Jr. Obituary

Frank Green peacefully left us at the remarkable age of 99 years and 11 months on March 30, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, and a pillar of strength to all his family, Frank was the heart of his loved ones. He was the steady foundation on which his family was built, offering endless support, wisdom, guidance, and joy.

Born in Emanuel County on May 9, 1925, Frank's life was one of dedication and service. Though his formal education was limited, he became a man of incredible wisdom, having spent many years working at Georgia Craft, running his cotton candy ice cream business, managing Green's Home Rentals, and, most of all, embracing the hard work and satisfaction that came with being Farmer Green. Throughout his life, Frank poured his energy into caring for his family and friends, always working tirelessly to provide a secure and prosperous future for those he loved. His unparalleled work ethic, resourcefulness, and unwavering commitment made him the rock upon which his family could rely.

Beyond his professional achievements, Frank’s greatest contribution was his presence in the lives of his loved ones. He was a constant source of guidance, sharing stories from his rich and eventful life, imparting lessons like "don't rent, work, and get double for your trouble," reminding us to "read your Bible," and leading prayers with heartfelt words like "dinner on the ground! Chicken & hogs died so we can live." He offered advice, often in riddles, and instilled in us the importance of faith, hard work, and perseverance. Frank always made sure that God and family came first.

He was a man of many passions: farming, raising livestock, property management, and being an active member of his community.

As a dedicated member of Congregational Baptist Church, he enjoyed being involved, whether it was leading hymns or simply offering a helping hand. Frank had a love for making money, telling jokes, performing tricks, and watching Westerns. His playful spirit, generous heart, and sense of humor will forever be missed.

Frank’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and dedication. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 80 years, Bertha Green; his parents, Annabelle Green Hatcher and Frank Green; his children, Frankie Green and Nelson Benjamin; his granddaughter Adrienne Carey; his grandson Alan Green; and his siblings Maisey, Leslie, Fairy Munger, Laura Ward, Willie Green, Leroy Green, and Burnelle Green.
Frank is survived by his children Essie Morgan, Cynthia Jones, Lue B
