Frances Marcellas Mays - Edwards was a force to be reckoned with, born on November 1, 1947, and leaving a legacy that will never be forgotten when she peacefully passed away on March 9, 2025. She was a pillar of strength, born to Charles Mays Sr. and Lois Annie Rawls in Macon, Georgia, and she embraced every role in her life with unwavering dedication.

Frances's spirit shone brightly through her love for her family and her zest for life. She was a devoted grandmother who found joy in the simple pleasures of spending time with loved ones, dancing, sewing, and baking. Her magnetic personality drew people to her, and she welcomed them with open arms, making them feel like part of her own family. Sassy and unapologetically herself, Frances lived each day to the fullest, leaving behind a legacy of living without regrets. As we mourn her passing, we carry her spirit in our hearts daily, knowing that her presence will forever be felt in the lives she touched.

A beloved wife, mom, sister, aunt, and grandmother, Frances leaves behind a tapestry of loving memories that will forever be cherished. She leaves behind her three children, Shannon Hill, Shitia Mays, and Charles Mays, which were her pride and joy and two siblings, Hazel Wadley and Brenda Aaron. As well as her sixteen grandchildren and a multitude of great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Edwards, and five siblings, Beatrice Walker, Rufus Mays, James Mays, Charlie Mays Jr. and Chester Mays.

Frances Marcellas Mays - Edwards, a woman of strength, love, and unwavering confidence, will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire us to live boldly and love fiercely.
