Eula Redmond Obituary

Eula Mae Redmond, born August 29, 1954, in Macon, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Eula lived a life rooted in faith, service, and compassion—a life that touched countless hearts and left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength.

Eula was educated in the Macon-Bibb County Public School System and proudly graduated from Southwest High School, Class of 1973. A hard-working and dedicated professional, she later retired from Middle Georgia State College after many years of loyal service. Her work ethic, patience, and professionalism earned her the respect of colleagues and students alike.

Her spiritual journey began early in life when she was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Macon. Eula’s deep commitment to her faith led her to become a founding member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she helped lay the foundation of a strong spiritual community. She later found her church home at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was a faithful and active member. She served with distinction in the Mothers Ministry and lovingly presided over the Culinary Ministry, combining her spiritual gifts with her passion for cooking to nourish both body and soul.

Eula’s love for the kitchen was well-known. She found immense joy in cooking and baking, often bringing together family and friends with her delicious meals and warm hospitality. Her home was a haven of laughter, good food, and unconditional love. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued.
Eula was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Josephine Jones of Macon; her brothers, Paul Pettigrew of New Jersey and Robert Jones of Macon; and her precious granddaughter, Treasure Knight of Macon. Though their absence was deeply felt, she remained strong in faith and continued to nurture the family ties that meant everything to her.

She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life:
Her Devoted Children: Antonio (Francina) Redmond, Terrence (Sunundria) Redmond, and NeKita Salter, who were the joy and pride of her life.
Her Grandchildren: Khalil, DeAundre, Jayden, Christopher, Corrion, Isaih, Matthew, and Kaylor Dennard, who brought her endless smiles and purpose.
Her Great-Grandchildren: Kannon, Antonio, Kyndall, and Thailand, who brought new light and laughter to her later years.
Her Godchildren: Renina Jordan, Kenneth Ellington, and Carlos Slaughter, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Her Father: O’Neal Pettigrew.
Her Siblings: O’Neal Pettigrew, Jr., Laster Jones, Maurice Pettigrew, Martha Hicks, Arleshia Pettigrew, Tracy Jones, Jonathan Pettigrew, and Verlene Howard.
Her Aunts: Annie Hudson, Mary Briley, JoAnn Redmond, Lessie Smith (Mobile, AL), Mattie Mae Jones, and Chaney Mae Jones.
Her Devoted Cousins: Serena Edwards and Elizabeth Jackson, who were like sisters to her.
Her Sister-in-Law: Janie Jones
Her Lifelong Friends: Kathy Whitehead and Jennie Riggins, with whom she shared countless memories and enduring friendship.

Eula Mae Redmond lived a life of grace, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was a quiet yet powerful presence—wise, generous, and deeply rooted in love for God and family. Whether offering a kind word, a hot meal, or simply a listening ear, she gave selflessly and wholeheartedly. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing that Eula has received her eternal reward. She fought the good fight, she kept the faith, and now she rests in the arms of her Savior.
