Emmett Williams was born Thursday, April 16, 1952 to the parentage of Annie Lou Cornelius-Williams and Emmett Williams, Sr.
He was a graduate of Ballard Hudson High School.
After graduation, Emmett went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, he worked for many years as a skilled electrician with Cox Cable. Known for his strong work ethic and warm spirit. Emmett made lasting impressions both on the job and in the community. Emmett Williams, Jr. was a proud Marine Corps veteran, devoted family man, and beloved friend. His life was one marked by service , hard work, laughter, and love.
In retirement, Emmett embraced a simpler pace of life. You could often find him enjoying a good meal or friendly conversation at his favorite local spots: Nu-Way or Krystal's.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Gary Spivey and Nancy Williams. He is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
Emmett centered his eternal rest on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Emmett leaves to cherish his memory to his loving sister, Jerri Jean Gates; devoted nieces and nephews, Gary (Sharon) Sellers, Santonio Shalonda) Haywood, Albert R. Gates, Shona Faye Howard, Sharon Sellers, and Angel (Westhorny) Woodard; a host of great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives he touched deeply.
Emmett Williams, Jr.'s legacy of strength, service, and humor will live on in all who knew and loved him.
