A Faithful Servant's Journey
Elder Jefferson Lockett Sr., a native of Culloden, Georgia, transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was a pillar of St. James Church of God in Christ under Superintendent William A. Holt. Elder Lockett served faithfully as an Adjutant and Armor Bearer. He was educated in the Bibb County School. He preached throughout Middle-Georgia.
Elder Lockett was an anointed singer that encouraged many and brought healing to all that knew him. He was a Leader, Sunday School Superintendent and Chair of the YPWW Auxiliary.
He was preceded in death by Lillie Pearl Lockett (Wife) and Ada Henrietta Lockett (Mother).
He leaves to honor his legacy three children, Regina (Geoffrey) Forde, Jefferson Lockett Jr., and Jeremy D. Lockett; seven grandchildren; Naiyima Harris, SeKinah Harris, Nehemiah Forde, Shadarra Lockett, Jaiel Lockett Murray (Brandon), Joseph Harris, and Qualin Lockett; two great-grandchildren: Chyna Harris and Journei Murray. He is also survived by his beloved sisters;
Evelyn Finney, Ida Hawkins, Mary Spidell, Sally Shuler (Bishop, Allen Shuler), Josephine Searcy, and a host of nieces, a special and devoted niece Centa Lewis, nephews and friends. His life was a testament to his faith, his family, and his unwavering service to the Lord.
