Eddie Lee “Omar” Thompson was born December 12, 1953, to his late mother, Maggie Thompson.
Eddie attended the Bibb County School system. He was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. Eddie “Omar” worked for the Bibb County Schools as a custodian and a professional painter at Southwest High School and Bruce Elementary School until his health started declining.
He loved his football team, the Atlanta Falcons, fishing and helping his neighbors. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Charlotte and father to his step son.
Eddie “Omar” went to his final rest on Saturday, June 7, 2025. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mamie Tuft; grandfather, Henry Tuft; uncle, Ulysses Thompson; aunt, Margaret Thompson; his brother, Earnest Thompson; sister, Dr. Joyce Thompson Wesley and step brother, Darryl Bryant.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memories to his loving and devoted wife, Charlotte Butler Thompson; stepson, Terry Butler; brother, Phillip Thompson; mother-in-law, Dorothy Butler; sister-in-law, Florence Thompson; one niece, A’Dajaha Golden; sister, Sharon Golden; devoted friend, Melvin Barney and a host of friends and relatives.
