Eddie F. Pitts was born on March 25, 1949, to the late George Pitts and Esther Lewis Pitts. From this loving union, five sons and one daughter were born. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved brothers, Simon Pitts, George Pitts, Jr., Ricky Pitts, and Roy Pitts.
Eddie received his education from Ballard Hudson High School and later honorably served his country by joining the United States Navy. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to working for the Bibb County Fire Department, where he proudly served his community. He also worked part-time as a City Bus driver before beginning a long and faithful career with Norfolk Southern Railroad, from which he eventually retired. Eddie was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to providing for his family.
On Saturday, December 13, 2025, Eddie departed this earthly life for his Heavenly home.
Above all else, Eddie was a devoted family man who was deeply loved and respected. He cherished his role as a brother, and friend, always offering support, guidance, and love to those around him. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Eddie Pitts, Stacey Pitts, and Angela Johnson; one sister, Mary Pitts; along with a host of grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Eddie’s legacy of love, dedication, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
