Her Life, Her Love & Her Legacy
Dr. Laura Anglin Myers was born in Moultrie, Ga March 31, 1953, to the late Mr. Clarence Anglin, Sr. and Mrs. Lizzie Merritt Anglin. She was the youngest of seven children. Dr. Laura A. Myers was preceded in death by a daughter, Thelisa Michelle Myers, and four of her siblings: Thelma Kennon, Daisy Williams, Betty Jones, and Clarence Willie Anglin, Jr.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She joined Sinner Friend Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the choir. She was educated in the Colquitt County Public School System, where she graduated from Colquitt County High School. She received certification in Early Childhood Education while attending the Albany Technical College. Being an advocate of education, Dr. Laura A. Myers graduated from seminary with a Master's degree in Christian Counseling and a Doctorate in Christian Education.
She met the love of her life, Troy Myers, and they married on July 29, 1972, and shared 53 wonderful years together. God blessed this union with three beautiful daughters, Thelisa Myers, Yashica Murphy Chatman, and Janebreka Myers. Her princesses, Destiny Hunter and Diamond Murphy; her great granddaughters, whom she absolutely loved and adored, Sofia Lane and Kash Lane; her sisters, Mable Sanders and Janice Richardson, and a host of other nieces and nephews and family.
