As we continue to celebrate the life and legacy of our dear sister Denisha Elizabeth "Baby Dee" Welcome and her impact on us all. Let our memories of her forever remind us of how she taught us the true meaning living life, from the laughs and conversations to the tears we cried, she remains in our hearts.
Denisha Welcome- Savannah, Georgia - 34 The oldest of four children was born April 28, 1988 to Andrea Welcome. Denisha spent her early years in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia and later moved to Macon and Twiggs County where she made many friends who became family! In her years at Twiggs County High School she was a star basketball player and received awards for her talent. Shortly after her Junior year of high school she devoted her time to helping raise her sisters due to a decline in her mother's health. Once her mother was well again, she went on to start her career at Job Corps in Atlanta. Her focus was construction and engineering. Although her time was cut short due to an injury that she sustained while on an assignment, she left having made many lifelong friends! After her injury she returned home to be with her family where she reamined up until the time of her passing. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, party and sing music off beat. She befriended everyone she came in contact with and accepted them with open arms and no judgement. Denisha left a lasting impression on everyone's lives in whom she entered.
She leaves to cherish her memories three loving sisters; Cymphony Thompson, Emoni Brown, and LaDeja Dawkins. A loving grandmother Essie Mae Welcome, one nephew Kiari Smith, three nieces; A'morie Brown, Honesty Smith, Sabali Thompson, best friend Kenya Howard, and father Elliott Dawkins.
