Deborah Butts-Hines Obituary

Deborah Denise “THE DUCHESS” Butts-Hines was born on June 27, 1960 to the late Earnest Butts, Sr. and Emma Mae Butts.

Deborah joined Greater Overcoming Church of God Faith Temple under the leadership of Bishop John L. Cotton at an early age. She served faithfully lifting her beautiful angelic voice where she sung in the Overcoming Young Adult Choir.

Deborah received her education in Bibb County Public School System where she graduated from the Southwest High School, Class of 1978. After graduating, Deborah further her education at Black Stone University College, where she attained her certification as a Paralegal.

Deborah was known throughout her life for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. She worked in several professional roles over the years, touching many lives through her dedication and service. Her career journey included positions in customer service, warehouses and community outreach promoter. No matter where she worked, Deborah was admired for her compassion, professionalism, and willingness to help others. She took great pride in her work and built lasting friendships with colleagues and those she served. She worked faithfully for UPS where she was loved by many for her hardworking and dedication. Before her health declined, she was employed at BJ’s Wholesale Club.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Earnest and Emma Mae Butts.

Deborah leaves to cherish her memories: Narvechia (Jamie) Brown, Devon Brown and Jasmine Barnes all of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Kobi, Quandarius, Carter, Mekhi, Peyton, Kailyn, Haven, Caysen and Chosyn; siblings, Angela (Ronald) Miller, Beverly Gordon, Earnest Jr., Corinthia (Rudolph) Pennimon; nieces and nephews, Kenyetta, Jacinto, Earnest, III, Taneshia, Jasmine G., Kewon, JaRod, Travion, Peaches, JaQuez, Brandon and Joshua; maternal aunt, Annie M. Studymine; paternal aunts, Evelyn Patterson and Vivian Butts; best friends, Mynique Nurse and Winifred Sandifer and a host of relatives and friends.
