Deacon Anthony Oneal Jones was born on November 12, 1967, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Calvin Jones and Earnestine Jones. He peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Anthony accepted Christ at an early age and became a devoted member of Fulton Missionary Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon. He remained active and faithful in service to the Lord for many years. Anthony was also a proud member of Freemasons of Thomaston, Georgia.
He attended Northeast High School and was well known for his hard work, friendly spirit, and joyful personality. Anthony never met a stranger and had a special way of bringing light to any situation-often through storytelling and his love for making others laugh.
His passions included playing basketball, cooking, shooting pool, and cheering for his favorite teams-the Philadelphia Eagles and Alabama Crimson Tide... Roll Tide!
Anthony leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving, devoted wife and caregiver, Rose Jones; children, Rickey (C4) Williams, Sharod Haynes, Nei-Eshia (Eshia) Jones, Asylinana (Shay), and Sammie Cosby; thirteen grandchildren; three godchildren; siblings, Erma (Larry) Breeden, Kelvin (Debra) Jones, Peggy (Broderick) Green, Carolyn Jones; uncle, Willie Jones and aunts, Patricia Young and Almatine Todd of Killeen, Texas; a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that Anthony’s life was one of purpose, faith, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
