Darrell Denmark

On June 2, 1975, the Lord began the book of life for Darrell Dewayne Denmark.  He was born to a proud mother, Sallie Ann Denmark in the Unionville Community of Macon, Georgia.

Darrell began his childhood education at Matilda Hartley Elementary School. During his school years, Darrell loved sports.  He played football and basketball.  Darrell received the Heisman Trophy while playing for Southeast High School.  He received other awards in sports.

Darrell worked as a painter.  He also worked as a carpenter, floor tech for Coliseum Hospital.  He traveled from city to city painting until health failed.

Darrell accepted Christ at an early age. He loved God, his children, and his family.

On June 19, 2026, the Lord closed the final chapter by calling Darrell home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sallie Ann Denmark Griffin and his brother, Shawn Denmark.

He leaves to mourn his daughter, Jasmine Battle and Destiny Greene; sons, Jaylan Battle and Marcus Battle; six grandchildren, Junee Battle, Jordynn Battle, Journey Battle, Ocean Walker, Jason Davis and Justice Davis, Jr.; aunts, Margaret Denmark and Christine Finnell both of Macon, Georgia, MaryAnn Poole of Macon, Georgia and Tammy (Willie) Jones of Iowa; uncles, Brian Denmark, Johnny B. Denmark, William Paul Denmark all of Macon, Georgia and a host of cousins and friends.
