Ms. Clyde Denise Griggs was born on February 4, 1962, in Houston County, Georgia, to the late Willie Clyde Griggs and Betty Walton-Jones. She was educated in the Houston County Public Schools system, where she built lasting friendships and began shaping the compassionate character that defined her life. Known for her gentle spirit and radiant smile, Clyde was known for her kindness for being the brightest soul in the room.. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her, and she lived each day guided by love, faith, and a genuine concern for others.
Clyde was deeply devoted to her family and took great pride in being a loving mother. She was always there for her children, offering encouragement, comfort, and wisdom no matter the circumstance. Her selflessness and nurturing heart left an everlasting mark on those she loved. On October 20, 2025, she peacefully departed from all earthly pain to be with the Lord. Though she is no longer with us, the memories of her kindness, strength, and unconditional love will live forever in the hearts of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Clyde Griggs; her sister, Lizzie Green; her brother, Eddie Griggs and her grandson, Willie Henry Scott III.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her loved ones, her children, Arteanius Scott, Willie Scott, Marquize Griggs, Valantria Scott, Tawana Zellner all of Macon, Georgia; her mother, Betty Walton-Jones; sisters, Vanessa Vincent, Cawana Walton and Teresa Walton; brothers, Henry King, Monroe Jackson, Willie James Griggs, Carl Walton, David Walton and Ware Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.
