Mr. Clifford Butts was born on September 17, 1942, in Macon, Georgia, to the late George and Ada Lee Butts. He was educated in the Bibb County School System before beginning his life's work in masonry at an early age.
Under the guidance and training of his older brother, George Howard, Clifford mastered the art of masonry and became a certified brick mason. His dedication, talent, and unwavering work ethic enabled him to become a respected masonry subcontractor.
Masonry was more than a profession to Clifford; it was his passion and his legacy. He took great pride in teaching and mentoring others, passing his knowledge and skills on to his sons, grandsons, and nephews. He used his mastery of the masonry trade not only to build structures, but to build futures, mentoring young men in the community and creating opportunities for them to earn a living through skilled craftsmanship.
Clifford was an awesome Dad devoted to his family. He was also a father figure to many. He and his wife, Dorothy, opened their hearts and home to many. He believed in hard work, discipline, and doing things the right way. Those standards earned him the admiration, respect, and appreciation of all who knew him. Mr. Clifford Butts peacefully departed this life on June 15, 2026.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Dorothy Marie Butts; his children, Chris Jackson, Steven Butts, Chinita (Thomas) Gray, Melva Hill, Adriana Butts, Cassandra Pearson, Clifford Butts, Kimberly Pearson, Horatio Butts, Marcus Butts, Roshaundra Pearson, LaQueasve Wynes, Troy (Sheryl) Jones, all of Macon, Georgia, and Greg (Antionette) Rhymes of Byron, Georgia; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Adria Butts.
Though he has departed this earthly life, the lessons he taught, the standards he set, and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
