Clara Colbert Obituary

A Glorious Beginning
Clara Beatrice Colbert graced the world with her presence on Monday, June 24, 1929, born to the late Emma and Giles Davis in Macon, Georgia. On May 5, 2025,; she peacefully transitioned from her earthly life to her heavenly life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience.

The Foundation of Knowledge & Faith
Clara was educated at Unionville Primary School and Hudson High School. A lifelong learner and a woman of deep, unwavering faith. She was never one to miss a Sunday service and always present at Bible Study on Wednesdays, a devoted student of Sunday School. Her walk with God wasn't just personal; she passed that torch to her children and generations beyond.

Hands That Blessed
Clara's hands were rarely still-whether in her garden, her kitchen, or at her sewing machine. Her green thumb was the stuff of legend; she could coax life
from a stubborn seedling or revive a wilting houseplant with a tender touch. Her backyard was a bounty of vegetables, and her home bloomed with fresh-cut flowers and thriving greenery. When it came to sewing, Clara was an artist— patterns optional. Her garments could rival those of any high-end boutique. And oh, her kitchen-where sweet aromas filled the air and her pies, cakes, and cookies were known to lift spirits and sweeten souls. She also found joy in the crack of a bat and the roar of a crowd, never missing a good baseball game.

Wearing Many Crowns
Clara wore many hats-each one with grace and dedication. She served as a trusted house manager and nanny to families in Bibb County, including the fire chief's household. She worked in sterile supply at Macon Hospital, and later, as a pastry chef at Middle Georgia Hospital, where her culinary talents shined. But her greatest, most cherished role was that of matriarch-wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. No job ever meant more.

A Joyful Reunion in Glory Clara now reunites in Glory
Clara now reunites in glory with her beloved husband, Andrew Colbert; her parents, Emma and Giles Davis; her siblings-Sam Davis, Johnnie Kinder, Annie Brown, Mary Murray, Giles Davis, Louis Billy Davis, Jacqueline Deloris Reed, and Emma M. Davis; her children-Andrew Colbert, Ann Howard, and Sandra Jones; as well as her great-grandson Calvin Cunningham.

Love That Echoes Through Generations
She leaves behind a proud and loving family: her children Ulyssess Colbert (Brenda), Reginald Colbert (Tracy), and Sheila Haisley (Michael); siblings Cheryl Davis, James Davis, fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her furry companion Andy, and friends who were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and unforgettable spirit.

Clara Beatrice Colbert's legacy is one of strength, love, and unwavering faith. Her roots run deep, her branches stretch wide, and her memory will continue to bloom in every life she touched.
