The sixth of nine children, Mr. Charley (Chuck) Cooley was born on July 26, 1954 to the late Mr. Eddie and Mrs. Ethelrine Cooley in Moorehead, Mississippi. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Spencer and Lamont Fairley, and four siblings, Mr. Malcolm (Joe) Cooley, Mr. John Cooley, Mrs. Mary Williams and Mrs. Juanita White.
Educated in the public schools of Clarksdale, Mississippi, ‘Chuck’ held a variety of occupations including construction, maintenance and landscaping. He accepted Christ at an early age at Holy Grove Baptist Church. Upon moving to Macon, Georgia, he joined A Becoming Sight Outreach Ministry later moving membership to Jericho Road. During his tenure at Jericho Road, he was ordained as ‘Senior Deacon.’ In 2020, he became a member of Bread of Life Deliverance under the pastorage of Bishop J. Nails.
‘Chuck’ was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Tondra Renee Taylor on October 15, 2004. To this union, three children were born. In addition, ‘Chuck’ became a father to four other children, treating them as if they were his own.
‘Chuck’ was a selfless individual who strongly believed in exemplifying love. His love for family and friends was evident as he demonstrated forgiveness; served as a provider, protector, advisor, and counselor; besides, putting the needs of others before his own. He enjoyed singing, fishing, and bowling; however, his greatest joy rested in God, his wife, and his children. A man of wisdom and persistence, he left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
For 70 years, 7 months, and 18 days, Charley was ours. His role as husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend will forever be embodied in our hearts. On Sunday, March 16 at 3:14 a.m. at Atrium Navicent Health , God, in his infinite wisdom, saw fit to fill an empty space in His flower garden and welcomed Mr. Charley Cooley home.
“Chuck’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife, Mrs. Tondra Renee Cooley; children: Mr. Tyron Fairley of Bay City, Michigan, Ms. Diana Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, Miss Chantinique Cooley, Miss Shakira Cooley, Miss Shakara Cooley, Mrs. Tylisa (Christopher) Larkins, Ms. Shannon Richardson (Josquan) and Mr. Isaiah Richardson (Danielle) of Macon, Georgia, and Mrs. Tykisha (Randy) Greene of Centerville, Georgia; siblings: Mr. Tommie (Sallie) Cooley, Ms. Charlene Cooley, and Ms. Ethel Cooley of Detroit Michigan; father-in-law Pastor John (Brenda) Glover; brother and sister-in-laws: Ms. Bertha Cooley of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Andrea (Kenard) Gay of Danville, Georgia, and Mr. Kevin Taylor, Mr. Jonathon (Shenika) Glover, Mr. Chris Glover, and Ms. Quita Moore of Macon, Georgia; twenty-one grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
