Charles Alfred Collins departed from us on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born October 17, 1943, to the parentage of the late Noel Collins, Sr. and Annie Douglas Collins.
Charles attended Bibb County Public School and was an alumnus of Ballard Hudson High School. He went on to work at the Schwartz Roofing Company and retired from Georgia Power Plant Scherer.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Noel Collins (the late Juanita), and Roy Collins. Six sisters; Sarah Collins Gurr, Louvenia Collins, Catherine Collins Williams, Lenora Collins Little, Carolyn Collins, and Martha Collins.
Charles leaves to cherish his legacy and precious memories, his wife of 46 years, Fannie L. Collins. A sister; Florasee “Bibbie” (Herbert). Children; Dr. Vincent (Esther) Carey, Glen Carey, Janelle Carey, Ayoka Collins, Rev. Larry Octavious (Sereta) Sams, Demetrice Sams. Grandchildren; Dwana Johnson, Darius Johnson, Tyrique Chester, Tierra Little, Sahley Jorday, Jr., Austin Carey, Matthew Carey, Bonnie Cooper, Felicia Sams, Samaria Sams, Octavious Sams, Rev. Reginald Sams. Great-grandson; Elijah Sams. Three sisters-in-law; Gloria Ann Sams-Carter, Linda Sams, Harriett (James) Brown. Three brothers-in-law: Nathan Sams, James (Mary) Sams, Larry (Gloria) Sams. Charles is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to nephew Alton Davis for assisting with doctor appointments, chores, etc.
