Carlton W. Stewart Sr. was a man whose presence brought strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom to those around him. He Was born on February 20, 1956, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Frank Stewart Sr. and Nannie Mae Card Stewart. Carlton lived a lite marked by dedication to his family, resilience through life's challenges, and a steady spirit that grounded those who knew him.
Carlton was a proud graduate of Southwest High School, Class of 1974. After graduation, he attended Mercer University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978. Following his time at Mercer, he enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country, earning recognition for his service and dedication. During his time in the military, he also attended Parachute School.
After completing his service in the United States Army, Carlton began a long and dedicated career with UPS, where he worked faithfully for 35 years.
He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and a true friend. Carlton was known for his kind heart, warm spirit, and willingness to help others. He had a way of bringing a smile to your face whether he knew you or not. A great conversationalist and an even better listener, he was always encouraging others to pursue their goals, often reminding them, "You can do it," while remaining positive and respectful.
Carlton loved his family deeply and cared greatly for his friends. He enjoyed gatherings, visiting with loved ones, socializing, and especially good food, sports, and dancing.
Though he departed from this earthly life on April 27, 2026, his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to perseverance, care, and quiet strength.
He leaves to cherish his legacy of love his devoted wife of 18 years, Victoria Stewart, who faithfully cared for him and stood by his side every step of the way until the very end; his beloved children, Carlton Stewart Jr. and Karetes Gibson; his siblings, Frank Stewart (late Annie) of Lizella, GA, James Stewart (Thelma) of Lake Forest California, Kenneth Stewart (Margie) of Macon, GA, and John Stewart (Christine) of Washington, D.C.,,
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Stewart Sr. and Nannie Mae Card Stewart, and his sisters, Carol Dean and Sandra Stewart. He also leaves behind two loving granddaughters, along with a host of family and friends who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
