Brenda Bentley was born September 28, 1951, to Mack and Ruth Austin. She transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Brenda was a lifelong resident of Macon, Georgia where she was educated in the Bibb County Public Schools. She was a 1969 graduate of McEvoy High School (Southwest) where she was a member of the Y-team. She left a lasting academic footprint at Tuskegee University, Mercer University, and Macon Junior College.
Brenda met Marvin Bentley in the 10th grade when their love began. They united in Holy Matrimony on June 30, 1972. Their enduring partnership of 52 years was built upon mutual respect, deep affection, and unwavering support for each other. Together, they created a life full of laughter and love. Their bond remained a shining example of devotion. Brenda's love for Marvin was immeasurable, and she found her greatest joy in their shared journey through life. Their love, which spanned over decades, will continue to be a guiding light for all who knew them.
Brenda dedicated 37 years of her life to Southern Bell Company (AT&T), where she worked with unwavering commitment and passion. Her work ethic and dedication to the company earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and peers alike. She retired in 2008, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and a deep connection to the people with whom she worked.
Brenda was known for her kindness, generosity, and loving spirit. To say her title "Sister" was well deserved would be an understatement.
She was a devoted member of Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served on the Steward Board, Church Anniversary Committee (Chairman), Local Women's Missionary Society (President), Board of Trustees, Choir, and most recently the Macon North Women's Missionary Society (Treasurer). Her contributions to the church community were intentional and significant because faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and relationships. Brenda also found joy in baking and gardening, sharing her talents with those around her.
