Bobbie Jean Garey was born to the parentage of Walter Garey and Dorothy Penn Garey.
She attended Ballard Hudson High School, graduating in 1963. Bobbie Jean worked for Macon Hospital, The Douglas Theatre and Wendy’s.
At an early age, Bobbie Jean realized she needed Christ in her life. She became a founding member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and participated in Sunday School and other youth ministries. She remained a member of Mt. Vernon and was active until her health would no longer allow her to do so.
Bobbie Jean departed this earthly life on May 30, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Dorothy Garey and two sisters, Martha Nell Garey and Dorothy Stevenson.
She leaves behind three daughters, Andrea (Anthony) Jones, Doris Garey and Rejoiner (Willie “Mike”) Dubose; sister, Leila (Norman) Chambliss; grandson (fondly aka her son), Quinlin R. Garey, Sr.; grandsons, ShaMarcus Garey and Christian Dubose; granddaughters, Quinesha Garey, Te’Amber Garey, and Re’Niya Dubose; ten great grandchildren; god children, Jimmy Stanley, Latara Smith, and Lashunda Chester, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
