Ms. Betty Jean Hodges was born on April 15, 1942 to the parentage of Mr. Ben and Timothy Stubbs Hodges. She grew up with four brothers: John (JB), Eugene (BaBa), Horace (Nut), and Marion (Deelee) Hodges.
Betty attended Bibb County Public Schools. She worked for 20+ years until her retirement with the Macon Telegraph newspaper. As many know, she also worked in her yard and her kitchen for many years with the many lessons her mother taught her.
She was brought up in church at Smithville Baptist Church in Centerville, Georgia. Later in life, she joined Ebenezer Baptist Church. She always enjoyed herself a good choir and a good hymn.
She is survived by one brother, Mr. Marion (Beverly) Hodges; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Hodges and Mrs. Joyce Hodges; son, Mario (Ursula) Hodges; grandchildren, Kiara Hodges, Tanisha (Stalin) Hodges-Mosquera, and Terrance Hodges; and great granddaughter, Rosalia Mosquera; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
