Bessie Spikes Obituary

After a protracted battle with colon cancer, Bessie Ann Spikes was called to her Heavenly home on March 18, 2023, at the age of 67 with her family by her side. She was born on April 13, 1955, to the late George Herman Ralls and Nordia Ann Wyche Alexander in Barnesville, Georgia. Bessie was a fighter and was determined to beat cancer. She did not allow it to keep her down. She always said, “God has the last say so.” Bessie loved spending time with her family and friends, especially playing spades with them. She also loved shopping and listening to Debra Snipes, her favorite gospel singer. She was the babysitter, cook, and counselor. She never met a stranger and was loved by all.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, George Herman Ralls, Sr., and Nordia Ann Wyche Alexander; her grandparents, Willie and Mamie Wyche, and Ernest and Molly Ralls; her two brothers, Thomas Wyche and Johnny Wyche, and sister, Noria Jean Wyche.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memories by her husband, Eugene Spikes of Detroit, Michigan; two sons, Rodrick E. Spikes and Dedrich A. Spikes of Macon, Georgia; one grandchild, Rayshawn J. Spikes of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters, Cleo P. Alexander and Mary L.
