Bessie M. McCoy Hayden, affectionately called “Mae”, was born October 23, 1942, to the parentage of the late Ben and Bessie McCoy, Sr.
She was a graduate from Ballard Hudson High School. Bessie loved flowers, fashion and make-up. She earned two certificates in silk floral designs and interior designs from Mercer University. Bessie was a beauty consultant for Mary Kay for over 10 years. She retired from Keebler Cookie Company after 20 years as a machine operator.
Bessie was preceded in death by her siblings, Sam McCoy, Ben McCoy, Frank McCoy, Jim McCoy, Alice McCoy and Ralph McCoy.
Bessie leaves behind four children, Brenda Webb of Macon, Georgia, Susan (Jeffery) Coleman of Byron, Georgia, Stephen Moore of Macon, Georgia and Tomekia Buckins of Macon, Georgia; three grandchildren, Uriah Jackson, Jeremiah Thomas, Bennysia Harris all of Macon, Georgia; one great grandchild, Alijah Walker of Macon, Georgia; a sister, Barbara Dumas of Lizella, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
