Babara Ann Tennison

Barbara Ann Hicks Tennison, age 75, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, in Roberta, Georgia. She was born on June 11, 1949, in Reynolds, GA, to the parentage of the late John Hicks and the late Ella Fraiser Hicks.

A devoted member of the Roberta Church of God by Faith since 2009, Barbara served faithfully as an usher until her health began to decline. Known for her honesty and warmth, Barbara had a unique way of speaking her mind while still embracing those around her with love and her delicious meals. Her life was rooted in faith, family, and service.

She is survived by her beloved husband Wallace Tennison Sr., to whom she joined in holy matrimony on August 13, 1972, her daughter Lakisha( Christopher) Osby; Granddaughters Dabria McGinnis and Chrishayla Osby; and sister-in-law Joann Tennison along with a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her children Dexter Hicks, Wallace Tennison Jr., and Jill Tennison; grandson Dadrian Tennison; sisters Bertha Montford (Obie), Etheleon Worsham (George), Daisy Howard (Joe), Mary Tennyson (Boise), and Helen Hicks; brothers JC Hicks, KC Hicks, Bobby Hicks, and Pete Hicks; as well as brothers-in-law Joe Tennison (Louise), Charles L Tennison (Joann), Franklin Tennison, and Charlie "Flute" Tennison.

During her final days, Barbara was comforted by a dedicated team: Charena Tennyson, Tonya Tennison, John Montford and family, Judy Jordan, and Winifred Worsham.
