Babara Jackson-Brint Obituary

Barbara Jean Jackson Brint, affectionately known as “Granny,” was born on November 29, 1963, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Nellie Chatfield and the late Willie Howard. She was the tenth of twelve children and grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. Barbara attended Southwest High School in Macon, where she built lifelong friendships and developed the caring spirit that would define her life. She later worked as a private sitter, dedicating herself to caring for others with compassion, patience, and kindness. Her gentle nature and giving heart made her not only dependable but deeply cherished by all who knew her.

Barbara was a woman who truly embodied love in action. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and anyone in need, never hesitating to put others before herself. Whether it was offering words of encouragement, providing care, or simply being present, Barbara’s kindness left a lasting impression. She was deeply loved by many, and her warm smile, nurturing spirit, and selfless ways made her a pillar of strength within her family and community. Her love was genuine, and her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her.

On Saturday, April 4, 2026, Barbara peacefully answered the call home and was welcomed with open arms. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family.  Barbara’s legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and devotion—a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories her four children, Renauta Jackson, Quentin Jackson, Jarvis Jackson and Charlie Harden, Jr.; eleven grandchildren (Hopkins Dover and Sears); three great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her loving siblings, Retha (McKinley) Brantley, Lois (Roy) Johnson, Willie Howard, Michael Jackson, Shirley Jones and Mattie Chatfield along with a host of extended family and loved ones.
