On December 18, 1938, Arthur Ross began his journey of life being born the second eldest of seven children to the late Rev. Ernest F. Ross, Sr. and Mrs. Fannie Reid Ross.
Arthur was educated in the Bibb County School System and a proud graduate of Ballard Hudson High School in1957. He relocated to Miami, FL and was employed with Bell South for over 33 years as a service technician.
Arthur was a loving father, grandfather, son, sibling, uncle, and cousin. He loved to travel and dance.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Jannie Paul, and to this union, three children were born. He later united in Holy Matrimony to Sara Lois Adams until her demise. Early in life, Arthur joined Greater Lizzieboro Baptist Church and served on the Usher’s Ministry. After returning to Macon, he reunited with the church and Usher’s Ministry until his health failed.
Arthur was preceded in death by a host of family members and friends, including his parents Rev. Ernest F. Ross, Sr. and Mrs. Fannie Reid Ross, son, Arthur Jamal Ross; five siblings, Ernest Ross, Jr., Norman Ross, Essie Howard, KayCee Ross, and Tommy Ross; and his children’s mother, Jannie Ross.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Rosalind Johnson of Macon, GA, Jackie Ross and Pamela (Ricky) Siler of Miami, FL; four grandchildren, LaTasha, LaToya (Antonio), LaRhonda, and LaKeisha; great-grandchildren, LaTarria, Jada, Jaden, Kyleigh, Leah, Joseph Jr, Ashanti, and Talayah; a devoted sister and caregiver, Rosa (Sam) Hall of Lizella, GA, devoted nephews, Reginald Braxton, Jarvis Hall, and Daryl Robinson; devoted nieces, Sarita Robinson, Andrienne Thomas, Valerie Adams, SaKara Adorno and Chiquita Stanley; devoted cousins, Cathy Mardis and Angela Spann; friend, Dorothy Bailey and aide, Tia Smith; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
