Antonio Smith Obituary

Antonio L. Smith, affectionately known as TJ, was born on July 28, 1986, to Theresa (Smith) Jackson and Antonio Jones. He grew up in the vibrant city of Macon, Georgia, where he enjoyed lively childhood adventures and attended Bibb County Public Schools.

TJ was a man of unwavering dedication and a tireless work ethic, dedicating seventeen remarkable years of his life to the noble profession of truck driving. With every mile he traveled, he carried not just cargo but the pride of being a steadfast provider for his beloved family.

A true football fan, TJ wore his love for the Florida State Seminoles like a badge of honor, cheering passionately. Beyond the excitement of game days, he found great joy in nurturing young talent, coaching football, and mentoring his children's teammates. His genuine encouragement and steady guidance imparted invaluable lessons of discipline, teamwork, and confidence to the youth he touched, leaving a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten.

On the fateful evening of July 12, 2025, TJ transitioned from this earthly realm, leaving behind a profound emptiness. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, E.J. Smith, and his devoted auntie, Tracie Michelle Smith, both of whom held special places in his heart.

In his memory, he is survived by his loving wife, Gladesha Smith, a pillar of strength by his side; his beloved daughter, Jaidyn Smith, who brought light and laughter to his life; and his three cherished sons, Antonio (Tank) Smith, Nijous Ross, and Creed Smith, who were the apples of his eye.

TJ's legacy also lives on through his mother, Theresa (Clarence) Jackson, and father, Antonio Jones; his devoted mother-in-law, Verdene (Clayton) Ross. His brother, Travon Johnson, and his grandmothers, Nellie Smith and Eleanor Jones, whose love nurtured him and Mae Bell Harris. He will be remembered fondly by his uncles, Donnie (Sabrina) West and Christopher (Cassandra) Smith, as well as Debra (Tommy) Cross and Emily Dorsey. Two cousins whom he held to his heart dearly, Somalia Burton & Traterica Payton, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, family, and friends, will continue to carry his memory in their hearts. TI's vibrant presence, infectious laughter, and unyielding love will resonate in the lives of all who knew him, forever shaping their journeys with his warmth and wisdom.
