Annie Farrar was born on April 11, 1941, to the late Clifford. Williams and Silas Williams, Sr. of Twiggs County, GA. She joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church at an early age, where she gave her life to Christ. She married her life-long partner, Alton. Farrar, in May 1965. Annie passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 28, 2025.
To all who knew her, she was simply “Sweet,” a name she carried with grace and lived out every day through her gentle spirit. In many ways, it seems fitting that she was the last of her four siblings, because she devoted herself to keeping them close, showing how much she cared by making regular calls and nurturing their connection throughout the years. She loved family, people, and laughter. When she was able, she enjoyed going out to eat for family time, cooking for others, and accompanying her grandchildren on school field trips. Her bright smile was ever-present, a true testament to the joy she brought to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Silas Williams, Jr. (Gertrude), Charlie Williams, Sr. (Jimmie Lee), Ida. B. Faulk (Raymond) and Laura. Harris (George).
Annie leaves many to cherish and celebrate her legacy, including her husband of 60 years, Alton. Farrar, Sr.: daughter, Darlene Farrar (Randy); son, Alton Farrar, Jr. (Bobbie); one grandson, JaVarus (Ashley) and one granddaughter, Komekia; three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She will be dearly missed.
