Anna Marie McCrary, born in Taylor County, Ga. was the 9th child of James C. Sr., and Anna Georgeanne Jackson McCrary. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers; Robert, Zebedee, Warren, Andrew, Jimmie (JD), James C., Jr. (JC); and two sisters, Loveree and Mary (M.E.).
She attended Henry A. Hunt High School in Peach County, Georgia. Upon graduation, she enrolled at Tennessee State University (Nashville, Tennessee) where she studied Home Economics and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She continued her educational studies at Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan) earning a Master of Education degree.
Anna McCrary began her teaching career in Panama City, Florida. After many years of teaching in the Detroit Public School system, Anna retired and moved back to Georgia.
Since childhood, she was a devoted member of Damascus Baptist Church (Butler, Georgia). Anna was also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Anna is survived by one sister-in-law, Luetta McCrary of Warner Robins, Georgia; nine nieces and nephews: Danetta Jones, Ronald (Dora) McCrary, Corlis Johnson, Debra (Claiborne) Miller, Darold (Phyllis) McCrary, Alex McCrary, LaVoris (Aaron) Curry, Averil McCrary, Candace McCrary; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
