Andrea Slocum Obituary

Andrea Lynette Slocum, affectionately known as "Lyn," was born on March 17, 1974, in Macon, Georgia, to James Swayne and the late Charlestine Swayne. As the oldest of three daughters, Andrea was deeply loved by her family. She attended Bibb County Public Schools, graduating from Southeast High School in 1992. Andrea furthered her education at Albany State University, Mercer University, and Georgia College and State University.

On December 26, 1997, Andrea was united in Holy Matrimony with Christopher Stephen Slocum, and together they were blessed with three handsome sons and three beautiful daughters.

Andrea was a lifelong member of Temple of Christ Pure Holiness Church of God in Macon, Georgia. Her career spanned several years in customer service management, home healthcare, and as a paraprofessional, in roles where she touched many lives with her dedication and care.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Andrea cherished her family and found joy in spending quality time with them. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elder Charlestine Swayne; and her grandparents, Mrs. Gussie Swayne and Mrs. Mary Alice Hill.

Andrea is survived by her devoted husband, Christopher Stephen Slocum; their six children, Justin Slocum of Columbia, Tennessee, Jordan Stocum, Jayson Stocum, Kourtney Slocum, Kennedy Slocum, and Kristy Stocum, all of Macon, Georgia. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Sunni Jayde Slocum; father, Pastor James Swayne; sisters, Miriam (Demetrius) Reese of Douglasville, Georgia, and Janet (Darren) Bivins of Macon, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Patrice Montgomery of Covington, Georgia, and Maria Slocum-Phillips of Macon, Georgia; brother-in-law, Robert (Sarah) Stocum of Macon, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Andrea's legacy of love, faith, and commitment will continue to inspire all who knew her.
