Alphonso Swain, 80, was born in Macon, Georgia, on December 6, 1944 to Wade and Willie Mae Swain.
Alphonso was a beloved member of his family and friends. He always brought life to any room. Affectionately known as Big Al, he never met a stranger. He attended Bibb County Public schools and retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base,
Throughout his life, Big Al loved his family. On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Alphonso departed this earthly life. He was preceded by his parents, Wade and Willie Mae Swain.
He will forever be missed by his loving and devoted wife, Mable Swain. He was a loving father to Mark (Tabatha) Swain, David (Kim) Swain, Tonja (Sidney) Braddy, Joseph Swain, (special daughter) Quandra “Trell” Swain; a cherished grandfather to Jonathan Howard, Brandi (Hakeem) Howard, Anthony “Doobie” Swain, Kim (Jasper) Johnson, Monique Swain, Valentina”Kissy” Swain, David Swain, Brittany Davis, Jontrell Swain, Jayla Swain, Raigan Mosley; a devoted great-grandson, Blake Davis, along with twenty two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; his siblings, Constance Stewart, Celestine Robinson and Jerome Swain and a host of nieces and nephews.
